Another Shooting? How about Gun Control?

As a new parent, I thought I was just being sensitive to the shooting reported this morning in Illinois. But then I realized: this is the FIFTH one this YEAR.

<rant> below...

I am truly fearful of the 2nd Amendment to our Constitution at this point in time, and believe that either the Amendment must be struck, or the NRA and gun lobbyists need to deal with MUCH stricter controls on arms.

This is too much. Clearly, as a society we've got some pretty significant problems. You can blame Hollywood, Video Games, etc. But the problem wouldn't be such an epidemic if everyone could get a gun as easily as they can get candy.

It is my belief that these problems stem directly from the leadership of this country and its corporations, and their attitudes about responsibility. It it COMPLETELY lacking. No one is ever to blame, but somehow, a great deal of people end up being screwed.

I ask you, all of the politicians, corporate leaders to stop passing the buck. Too many people are dying here.

Between our cavalier attitudes toward coercion in our foreign policies, to our incomprehensible default reverence for self-appointed demi-gods in corporations...this has GOT to STOP.

Hey Obama. Hey Hillary. Get out there and address this. Now. It has to stop.

You wanna be president? Then be presidential. You wanna rise above the fray? There's plenty of fray for you to speak to here.

Stop glancing across the room at how many babies your competitor has kissed compared to you, and start showing you really care about our babies by getting guns the HELL out of the wrong hands.
