But that is neither here nor there. As I said in the title of this diary, I get mail. To be specific, four pieces of mail from the Obama campaign. I get nothing from Hillary Clinton, leading me to believe that either she thinks she going to win the state, or she doesn't care if she loses. It is only Delaware, after all, what with our 23 delegates and 3 electoral votes.
But I thought I would pass along the contents of the four mailings. The first three are arguments you have heard before. The last one is an argument we make here on Daily Kos and other progressive and Democratic websites, and I find it very interesting that Obama is now making it.
Only One.

One Chance.

Healthcare.

The Democratic Party

This last ad speaks to triangulation. During the Clinton years, Bill Clinton enjoyed a successful presidency at the expense of the Democratic Party. Party building was not a priority at all. Indeed, the President took pains to separate himself from congressional Democrats. And the Democratic Party suffered. There was no 50 state strategy. There was only a Clinton strategy.
Obama is quite effectively telling Democrats that if Hillary is elected, it will be all about the Clintons again, and not about the Democratic Party. Just like Obama wants to unite America, he wants to unite the Democratic Party, not separate himself from it.
I applaud the argument, and it needs to be made more.
Finally, in ads like this is it standard operating procedure to include a most unflattering picture of your opponent when you are drawing contrasts between the two campaigns. Here, Obama does not do that. He includes a pretty good picture of Hillary. Kudos to his campaign for that.
