Obama Slams McCain Lobbyists Riding the Straight Talk Express

The Wheels of the Straight Talk Express have been driving Lobbyists all around the country, so said Obama with a new and very clever line of attack, finally incorporating some of the spark that came from the NY Times story last week.

Sen. Barack Obama said Saturday that the Republican presidential nominee in waiting, Sen. John McCain, has lobbyists as top aides and "many of them have been running their business on the campaign bus while they've been helping him."

Obama is cleverly going against McCain's mythical Straight Talk Express, first describing how the wheels came off when McCain flip-flopped on Bush's Tax Cuts, and now leading a full frontal assault on McCain's company and by proxy his character as a reformer. This is how Obama can define McCain the Hypocrite.

Obama broadened his criticism to McCain's ties to lobbyists in general, saying, "He takes their money and has put them in charge of his campaign."

An aide said Obama was referring to Charlie Black, and pointed to a recent published report that said the McCain strategist, who is a registered lobbyist, does a lot of work by phone from McCain's campaign bus.

And what tired lame ass line of attack could the McCain campaign fire back?

In rebuttal, Hazelbaker accused Obama of trying to distract attention from his record and resume. She said he has "no national security experience and plans billions of dollars in tax hikes."

We must make Barack Obama our nominee for the Fall.... the clarity and clever attacks are becoming more numerous and as time goes on Obama will expand his national lead on McCain in the polls. He has nothing on Obama and smear campaigns about Drugs and Muslims simply won't work as Obama has courted independents nationally while winning in States that McCain regularly loses.

Barack Obama knows how to attack without getting dirty, nasty or coming unhinged... he knows how to connect.
