The target being Hillary Clinton. It's an unjustifiable sickness afflicting the ultra rightwingers and the ultra left wingers, who really have a lot in common when you look at their agendas.
The existance of Hillary hating is not news to Americans. Pundits, commentators, political authors and know-it-alls have been documenting it for years if not directly fomenting it. This is a different hatred than the one that democrats, and now some republicans, have for George W Bush. George W Bush's hatred is justifiable, self propelled and coherant, based on his abilities, inabilities and direct actions. In the January issue of GQ, Jason Horowitz described the world of Hillary haters, many of whom he has interviewed. Horowitz finds that the hostile characterizations of Clinton do not add up to a coherent account of her hatefulness. She is vilified for being a feminist and for not being one, for being an extreme leftist and for being a "warmongering hawk," for being godless and for being "frighteningly fundamentalist," for being the victim of her husband’s peccadilloes and for enabling them. "She is," Horowitz concludes, "an empty vessel into which [her detractors] can pour everything they detest."
Further, the people and groups Horowitz surveys have brought criticism of Clinton to the almost humerous, if not paychotic "next level," in this case to the level of personal vituperation unconnected to, and often unconcerned with, the facts. These people are obsessed with things like her hair styles, the "strangeness" of her eyes — "Analysis of Clinton’s eyes is a favorite motif among her most rabid adversaries" — and they retail and recycle items from what Horowitz calls "The Crazy Files": she’s Osama bin Laden’s candidate; she kills cats; she’s a witch (this is not meant metaphorically), and finally and most recently, her tears, which any spectator has yet to actually see, but you wouldn't know it from press accounts which have her crying oceans.
The lists of hatred, however crazy and psychotic it may be, does not begin to touch the craziness of the hardcore members of this cult. Remember that according to the cult, Hillary "knocked off" Vince Foster, has her stealing from the White House, blackmailing, cocaine addicted, lesbian (used as an epithet), adulterer, white collar criminal, harasser, communist, and socialist. How do these sociopaths prove their illicit points? Innuendo, misinformation, outright lies, tortured logic and vast stretches of imagination. Have these people nothing better to do with their time? Obviously not! Im talking right wing radicals and left wing radicals here, lest we forget that many of our democratic bretheren are part of this group. Just read the diaries posted to DK every day. These falacious accusations put forth by these sociopaths actually say more about them than they do about Hillary.
Horowitz warns that as the campaign heats up, this "type of discourse will likely not stay on the fringes for long," and he predicts that some of it will be made use of by Republican operatives..but he's a little late to the game. it's already out there and as I stated above, some of it even being spread around like manure by democrats. Hillary, unfortunately, just can't do enough to appease these cookoo's. If she cries, she's too soft, if she answers questions authoritatively, she's too shrill, if she dresses too conservatively, she's frumpy, too modern, she's not age appropriate, hem too short, she has "big" legs, hem too long, hiding her "big" legs..or too provocative. What's it all about Alfie? The media is just as guilty as the actual Hillary haters, but as we all know, the media loves a food fight that brings ratings. So they stir and they stir and they stir until they have porridge.
Anybody read a Dick Morris column lately or seen him on FOX News? He's a regular contributor to Rasmussen Reports Polling, also, which is owned by the ultra rightwing evangelical conservative Scott Rasmussen and numerous main stream newspapers. Morris's relentless, baseless and borderline psychotic rantings about the Clintons is amost given an air of credibility when you consider the outlets that pay for his commentary and the audience that he reaches. Of course, one must always remember that Bill Clinton had to fire Morris, on the eve of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in 1996 when a transcript of Morris's encounter with a prostitute was released, toe sucking and divulging of secret information, notwithstanding. Does Morris have a personal vindictive agenda...you decide!
Now, the funny part of all of this is..the more the fringes hate Hillary, the better she does. Hillary can rise to the occasion, she's tough as nails, and smarter than most. I mean that in the most complimentary way.
