These are not new sentiments for Wright -- he has long held these beliefs and voiced them in sermons for many, many years. And today is not the first day that Obama learned about these statements either. Yet he did not denounce them until they became media fodder, and he has certainly made no move to leave the church where these kind of comments have become commonplace, and are still being made by the new pastor there.
In addition, Michelle Obama's own words,"For the First Time in My Adult Lifetime, I Am Really Proud of My Country," seem to echo the sentiments of Obama's pastor, Jeremiah Wright. She doesn't seem to have such wonderful judgement either.
Pastor Wright is not the only example of Obama's poor judgment.
In an extensive interview that he hoped would quell the lingering controversy over his relationship with Rezko, Obama said that voters concerned about his judgment should view it as "a mistake in not seeing the potential conflicts of interest."
Not such good judgement there either, and even Obama admits it.
And there is no question that this is just the beginning of revelations of Obama's poor judgment. The news media has yet to even begin the discussion of Obama's ties to Bill Ayers, the former Weather Underground terrorist.
If we don't turn things around soon, and stop supporting an unvetted candidate, we can count on a loss in November. If that happens it will be the base of this party that insisted we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
UPDATE: many commentators are claiming that Obama has now disassociated himself with Wright. However, by Obama's own admission, he has known about these types of remarks from Wright since the beginning of his presidential campaign. So why did he EVER have Wright on a campaign committee?
Apparently it's only a problem now that Wright's comments have been made public in the news media. If no one had found out about them it appears that Obama would have been fine with Wright being part of the campaign.
Again, poor judgment.
