I'd be interested to know how many Romney voters who claimed they wouldn't have voted for McCain a few months ago have changed their tune. Time heals all wounds. Democrats (myself included) learned in 2000 that there is a BIG difference between party candidates and elections do have consequences (ie, "W"orthless Bush). I'm sure that sentiment will be echoed repeatedly.
The important thing is to get this resolved as soon as feasibly possible (in a sensible manner) and not let it drag into the convention (although the different camps will come up with different metrics).
More to the point, I can't imagine any democrat, whether an Obama supporter or a Clinton supporter ever voting for McBush when the balance of the Supreme Court, the war in Iraq and a (possible) war in Iran if McBush has his finger on the button, not to mention the war in Afghanistan will hang in the balance. Further, after yesterday's disasterous McBush speech on the economy, when the teleprompter obviously stopped...how could any democrat even think about voting for the old fool from Arizona, even for one minute?
