#1 - The Easy Way
Hillary announces she will suspend her campaign after PA.
She throws her full support to Obama.
Obama pivots to the GE
#2 - Other Way
Hillary privately admits she lost and agrees to stop attacking Obama and vice versa.
Both Hillary and Obama pivot and start going after McCain full bore.
Obama and Hillary both continue the campaigning to the end, thus fleshing out the party in all 50 States and keeping the Press affixated on the Democrats for the next 3 months.
After the last Primary, Hillary drops out.
I think that Hillary being in the race is not a problem. It's the Democrat-on-Democrat warfare that is an issue. By keeping the two of them in the race and instead of attacking each other they go after McCain, we can further build party, keep the media attention on us and force the GOP to defend McCain from two sides.
I don't know which case I prefer. I don't know if the in-fighting would continue within the rank and file of the party if this thing continues. Even if both candidates go after McWalkingCain, I'm not sure that the intra-party healing can begin until it is officialy settled. Perhaps it can be more civil if we aren't defending our particular favorite candidate from attacks from the other Democrat.
