McCain Forecloses Early

I don’t see how anybody could deny that John McCain is a straight-talker. The country is terrified of economic collapse and he’s been sounding like Mr. Potter, the banker in "It’s a Wonderful Life." You can’t get more forthright than that.

The theme for his mortgage speech this week was basically McCain to Homeowners: Drop Dead. It was, he said sternly, "not the duty of the government to bail out and reward those who act irresponsibly." The good news, he noted, was that out of 80 million American homeowners, only 4 million are in the tank, while everybody else is "working a second job, skipping a vacation and managing their budgets" the way Countrywide Financial intended them to.

McBush needs a tutorial on economics. Maybe the "Mittster" can help out. Surely, Grandpa McCain remembers what happened to the economy under Hoover, after all, wasn't McCain one of Hoover's advisors? John McCain has an excellent recipe for "roasting" the American economy...stay the course, stand by, don't do anything, let the little guy suffer, help the big guys and tell everybody to "forego their vacations". I think the only ingredient McCain left out was a loud pinch of (fuck you) "my friends".

All one really needs to do to get a sense of how entrenched McBush is with the banking industry is get a little primer of his relationship with Charles Keating. You don't need to buy the book, just read the Cliff Notes. McBush never met a corporation or lobbyist he didn't want to hug and kiss..yes, he's an equal opportunity ass kisser, just ask "W"orthless Bush.
