Couple this with the release of the new Gallup poll yesterday, showing both Obama and Clinton beating John McBush, out of the margin of error and we are off to a great start. Not only does this bode well for the Democratic ascendancy to the White House, but it also forecasts what will happen in the senate and in the congress. Maybe 60 democratic senators is not such a dream after all. The latest SUSA Poll shows Dennis Hastert's old seat moving to the democrats in Saturday's special election so we might gain a super majority in the House as well. Here's looking ahead to the fall elections and the worn out, tired, old and anemic McBush.
The 9.7 percentage point advantage for Democrats is up from a 5.6 point advantage a month ago and a 2.1 point advantage two months ago. The surge for the Democrats is especially notable because it reversed a modest trend in the GOP direction that unfolded over much of calendar year 2007 (see history from January 2004 to present).
