This is becoming disturbing. Clinton advisors Wesley Clark and Jaime Rubin now making that argument - not simply that Clinton would make a better nominee - but that Obama is unqualified to be President.
Speaking to a BBC interviewer, Power said Obama would not necessarily base every military decision he would make in 2009 would be based in full on a plan crafted now.
"He will of course not rely upon some plan that he’s crafted as a presidential candidate or as a US senator," said Power, who resigned after calling Clinton a "monster" in a separate dust-up.
"He will rely upon a plan, an operational plan that he pulls together, in consultation with people who are on the ground, to whom he doesn’t have daily access now as a result of not being the president," Powers told the BBC's Stephen Sackur Monday.
Former NATO commander Wesley Clark, a Clinton supporter, called the comments "disturbing," and he accused Obama of not being prepared enough to be commander in chief and properly oversee an end to the Iraq war.
"That means knowing where you're headed before you start down the path," Clark said.
Jamie Rubin, a former State Department spokesman, compared Obama's foreign policy approach to "amateur hour."

These are scorched earth tactics. Accusing Obama of being unqualified is giving aid to the Republicans and could seriously wound Obama if he becomes the nominee. Attacks like these from one's own party are much harder to defend than those made from the opposition.
This is not going to end well.
UPDATE:What I am afraid of is that Clinton has decided on a McGovern strategy. If anyone recalls the 1972 race, it was McGovern's own party members that did much of the damage and made him a wounded candidate in the general election. (There were other problems as well).
In fact, it appears that Clinton wants to make Obama the next McGovern:
Strategists for Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign believe it is imperative to identify her high-flying opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, with the "McGovern wing" of the Democratic Party -- but they want to keep their candidate's fingerprints off the attack.
During the two weeks remaining before the important Ohio and Texas primaries on March 4, Clinton insiders want to spread the message that Obama represents the radical left-wing politics of George McGovern's 1972 candidacy, which won only one state. But they don't know how to accomplish this. When Clinton herself has launched past attacks on Obama, it has hurt her with voters.

Looks like they may have found some success.
