She's never taken a dime from anyone who'd want favors later, and she's been the model of dignity, grace, and good will on the campaign trail. It's all been about the issues, all the time. Always positive, always hopeful, always consistent.
It's what made her a great American leader, at home and abroad, for 35 years (and I personally think that's a MODEST count of the actual years she's been fighting for all of us).
And honest? My god, I think we have a new George Washington, ladies and gentlemen.
The really great thing is that when the Republicans went after the Clintons in the 1990s, and so many of us Democrats rallied to their side, defending them against their enemies... well, I don't think I've ever felt more appreciated in my life!! It was truly an honor to struggle with them against their enemies, and even if Bill did technically lie to us all, in his heart he didn't. In his heart he loved us.
And they've been selfless in their service to us, and to the Democratic party, ever since. They've left us a majestic legacy, a new era of Democratic reform and progressive policies, and an openness that surpasses all precedent, all expectations.
Hillary's first two terms as co-President were a Golden Age, and I really should support her for a third.
But I'm supporting Barack Obama. Damn. What happened? How did it come to this?
I really should apologize to Hillary Clinton, and then move on.
But it's probably over for me, even if I DO apologize. I'll never again have the privilege and honor of defending them against people who think they're narcissists who care only about their own power.
Damn. Too bad. Defending the honor of the Clintons was a big part of my life, and a wonderful time. I'll miss it.
I guess it's over between me and Hillary. I don't get to kiss her ass anymore. What a shame.
