Why Americans think Obama won the Debate

After watching the debate and reading all of the reviews from the "professional" pundits I noticed a strong disconnect. The "professional" pundits all thought that Obama lost the debate. They said he looked tired, beat up, he was always on the defensive and exoplaining himself, he didn't come across as strong, and he didn't do a good enough job of answering the jabs that moderators and Hillary threw at him.

However, if you look at the polls on the major news websites (granted these aren't scientific) Obama clearly won the debate in the eyes of the American public. Why?

I would say the reason is quite simple, but all of the pundits missed it. People are tired of politics as usual. If you watch the debate closely Obama pretty much started ever response the same way.." This is what I mean about distractions is our political discourse..." then he would go on and answer the questions about the flagpin, Bitter-gate or what have you.

This is what struck a cord with the American people, because we are tired of all of the distractions in polticis as well. And just like Obama most of us got mad becuase that was what most of the debate was about. Everytime Gearge or Gibson asked one of the wedge issue question it did nothing but to reienforce Obama's point.

If the MSM wasn't so interested in process they would have seen this. It was pretty obvious. However, after watching Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC no body picked up this. Nobody except Obama was campaigning in NC on this very issue.

Maybe one day the MSM will get a clue.
