As a former RINO, but more accurately, as a former apathetic cynic, I've spent many years following politics somewhat dispassionately, I daresay almost objectively. Having "no dog in the fight" gave me a different perspective on both party machinations and media manipulation. The cynic in me always responded with "there's a sucker born every minute."
