Clueless Then - Clueless Now- Clueless George!
I would like to know, at what point did we accomplish anything? Was it when thousands of our troops died horrific deaths, or got maimed, or were left to die, had their autopsies altered by the pentagon or were placed in deplorable conditions at the nations VA hospitals? Are these the measurments of what "they" call a success? Maybe the lies about how 911 and Saddam Hussein were connected and the stolen election in 2000, was that what "they" call a success? The way I see it, nothing has come from any of "their" so-called successes except a dead economy, loss of homes, healthcare, soldiers lives, wages, loss of jobs, a flawed and decaying infrastructure, outsourcing and a lying president who is on a power trip.
So, this is accomplishment? By what measure? Bush's? Cheney's? Rumsfeld's? Wolfowitz's? Rice's? The 5 faces of failure, by anybody's measurement.
As the Democratic Party seizes more power in the coming election, the republicant's will blame the Democrats for failing to extricate us from the catastrophe that is Iraq, rather than the neo-conmen who brought us this occupation and have kept us there for more than 5 years. Whatever humanitarian disasters result in Iraq after we're gone, the Bushbot Republicant's will never assume responsibility for making the wrong choice to invade a sovereign country that did nothing to us, opting instead to condemn the party chosen by the people to get us out of where we never belonged in the first place.
Does anybody at DKOS still want to say they will sit on their hands if their choice for nominee doesn't receive it? Does anybody at DKOS still want to say that if their choice is "not" the nominee, they will vote for McCain/McBush? Then you're as bad as the neo-conmen who brought us this war, because you are voting for another "50, maybe 100 years" of it, using McCain's own words.
Since the begining of the war and after "Mission Accomplished", there have been 4061 casualties in Iraq. These are not just numbers folks, these are OUR sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors. These fallen soldiers were the future of our country.
