Boston Globe reports it was a Seizure

Doctors believe that Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts suffered a seizure at his home in Hyannis Port this morning, then a second seizure as he was being transported by helicopter from Cape Cod Hospital to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to an official briefed on the situation.

CNN Ed Henry: Reports that at 10:30am Eastern, Ted Kennedy Called another Family member to advise he couldn't make it to the charity dinner tonight at the family compound. This is according to a source close to the family. Was told that Teddy sounded like himself, was "business like" about the lunch. The lunch is reportedly still going ahead. This is tremendous good news. It is well after the reported time that Ted was initially picked up from the ranch. Suggests that he was certainly Lucid.

"Senator Kennedy went to Cape Cod Hospital this morning after feeling ill at his home. After discussion with his doctors in Boston, Senator Kennedy was sent to Massachusetts General Hospital for further examination. He is currently under evaluation, and information will be released as it becomes available."

My Grandfather survived a series of strokes to live 15 years more after his first. The Medical Care available for stroke victims is amazing, however, it really depends upon the speed with which the person is treated. Let's all Pray for the Doctors at the Hospital that they may have the tools and skill needed to treat Senator Kennedy, for Senator Kennedy's family, that they have strength in this situation, and for Senator Kennedy, that he may recover right away. His voice is vital to American Democracy

HYANNIS -- U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy was rushed by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital this morning after falling ill at the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport.

Hyannis fire responded to the compound after a call was made around 8:30 a.m. It's unclear what Kennedy's medical condition is, but after he spent almost two hours in the emergency room a decision was made to transfer him to Mass General Hospital in Boston.

Kennedy, 76, was placed on a stretcher and wheeled out to the MedFlight helicopter around 10:15 a.m. where it took off from Barnstable Municipal Airport.
