Tim Russert Discusses Deal seating some delegates from MI/FL, giving Obama a 40 Delegate Hurdle, with 40 Identified already.
The Obama campaign will claim a mathematical lock on the nomination one week from tonight [after South Dakota and Montana], Wednesday morning at the latest...and then Hillary Clinton will have to, I believe, acknowledge that reality and make some very difficult decisions for her campaign.
We have here glimpses of the Endgame! All the pieces of the puzzle are below.
Marc Ambinder earlier in the day discussed Obama's Banking of Super Delegates.
To prepare for that eventuality, the Obama campaign has, for the first time, really, begun to bank delegates. Sources close to the campaign estimate that as many as three dozen Democratic superdelegates have privately pledged to announce their support for Obama on June 4 or 5. The campaign is determined that Obama not end the first week in June without securing the support of delegates numbering 2026 -- or 2210, as the case may be.
And to Back Up Russert's assertion that there is a deal on the table for Florida/Michigan-
Florida:
"I think we're moving toward half votes for everybody," DNC member Jon Ausman said of his appeal to be heard Saturday by the DNC's rules and bylaws committee. That would mean superdelegates would have the same vote as pledged delegates.
Michigan
Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) will make a stop in Michigan next Monday, less than 48 hours after an expected ruling by the Democratic National Committee about the fate of the Wolverine State's delegation to the party convention in August.
Still, the symbolic import of Obama stopping in Michigan soon after what may be the final ruling about the seating of the state's delegates should not be underestimated.
I think we're just about done here honestly... The Field Afterall is reporting tonight that the Battle Ground States are about to get their First Obama Organizing Fellows.
“We have a particular need for Fellows in the following states, and encourage you to relocate to one for this program if you don’t already live in one:
Colorado
Florida
Georgia
Iowa
Michigan
Missouri
North Carolina
New Hampshire
New Jersey
New Mexico
Nevada
Ohio
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Virginia
Washington
Wisconsin
Just so it’s clear to everyone, this program will go forward in all fifty states. The ones on this list will start on June 14, and all other states will start in mid-July.
