"You have got the Obama phenomenon. You have got, undoubtedly, a recession ... The average American is really getting hurt financially and that all bodes well for him (Obama), Murdoch said.
"You have probably the making of a complete phenomenon in this country," Murdoch said in describing what he predicted will be a sweeping victory for Democrats in November.
Murdoch said Obama and John McCain, the expected nominee of the Republican Party, both have a lot of problems, but McCain will be hurt by his party and his close ties to Washington. Race will be an issue for Obama, who would be the first black U.S. president, but "it looks like he overcomes that, overcomes that totally."
Wow!! Who could have ever predicted that I would ever agree with Murdoch on much of anything? Not me..not my friends...not anybody I respect, but here it is....the day of reckoning...Rupert Murdoch and I agree. It will be Obama in a landslide because he is the right candidate at the right time and McCain...well he's just another George Bush, "W"rong at any time. How'd that work out for the last 7.5 years. Disaster... and that's just the same fate that will meet McSame and the GOP in November.
Murdoch's cautiously intrigued by... Barack Obama. Murdoch, who said that was responsible for the New York Post's endorsement of Obama during the New York primary, said he wasn't ready to endorse Obama or to vote for him. But he's pretty close: "I want to be convinced that Obama is the real thing, that can really carry through. I'm open to that."
Rupert Murdoch's daughter held a fundraiser with Gwyneth Paltrow for Obama.. How many kids have convinced their parents to go Obama? Perhaps the curmudgeon Murdoch has seen the light through the eyes of his daughter and grandchildren. Now if he'd just fire Hannity and O'Reilly, that would be the icing ...and his salvation!
