I know this diary may not be well received here but I think it's time to chill out on our Hillary attacks. While her comments about white voters can only be described as assholish, wrong headed and somewhat racist I think it is pretty clear that she knows she has no shot at winning. Her arguments are about demographics and her speaches since Tuesday night have been about her vision for America and how we must beat McCain. In the last two days she has said that she would work FOR the nominee more times than I have heard her say it all year.
IMO she is trying to make sure she can raise enough money to get her campaign out of debt and pay herself back the $11,400,000. This isn't one of those silly diaries saying that we should pay her debt, this is a diary saying we should chill out and let her leave the race gracefully.

So we need to stay off of the sites that support her. We need to stop attacking her and her supporters who haven't given up yet. I know it is extremely hard to do. I have a hard time doing it myself. But if we want to ensure that we can get the vast majority of her voters who say that they won't vote for Obama it is essential that we give then the time and room to come to the obvious conclusion that the race is over.
And then we need to work on ways to get those people to vote for Obama.
For women I think it will be somewhat easy. I think the best argument is the Supreme Court. McCain has already said that he will put more Roberts' and Scalitos on the court. Those two were instrumental in the decision that said that equal pay lawsuits must be filed BEFORE women even know they are being screwed over.
Add to that the fact that this court has shown an obvious desire to over-turn Roe/Wade and we have two very valid and persuavive arguments that should win quite a few over.
Then there is the economy. McCain wants to continue the Bush policies. Those policies will have a huge effect on the children of our generation. It's an argument I will be using to convince my wingnut brother to vote for Obama since his two boys mean the world to him. He may be a wingnut but he loves his kids and isn't as stupid as his voting patterns suggest.
I know we are all frustrated. I know we want it to be over. But I also think that the argument being made out there that she should stay in until after Kentucky are valid.
None of us are HAPPY about the way that Hillary has fought Obama. Some are downright disgusted. But the end of this "Long Flat Battann Death March" is within sight.
And then the real fight begins. We need all factions of our party to fight for the common goal. And the sooner we allow the healing to begin, the better.
