Breaking News from Gallup poll...Obama's lead is still growing and has started to stabilize.
Voting preferences have been fairly stable over the last three individual days of tracking polling, all conducted since Hillary Clinton officially suspended her candidacy and publicly endorsed Obama for president on Saturday.
The seven percentage point advantage is Obama's largest to date since Gallup began tracking the general election in March. In turn, McCain has led Obama by as many as six percentage points in early May.
Better to start in the lead and protect it rather than to play catch-up. My bet is that Obama's lead is even greater because none of the polls are taking into consideration the growing numbers of voters that are registering to vote. They are thought to be greatly democratic voters as stated in a few other polls.
I think that this also shows that McCain is not able to make any inroads into his own base, who don't seem to be persueded by his rhetoric, according to many new polls out this week.
Great news!
Update;
Rightwing Rasmussen also has Obama gaining on McCain today:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Barack Obama attracts 48% of the vote while John McCain earns 40%. When "leaners" are included, Obama leads 50% to 43%.
