To the wingnuts pretending Obama isn't really black

Apparently, wingnuttia's new talking point is something along the lines of "well, Obama isn't completely black, so therefore there's nothing historic about his nomination,"; the point being I guess to reassure racists that their hatred of Obama is not really racist because he's not really black...or something. Whatever. Anyway, I realize this is just another part of the steady little drip, drip, drip of insidious innuendos for the feeble minded morons that make up the GOP base, but I feel the need to say this because no lie has ever been corrected from ignoring it.

Most (if not all) black Americans, descended from slaves, aren't "completely black" (in the context wingnuttia is dishonestly trying to suggest regarding Obama) either. In fact, I doubt there are many black Americans descended from slaves that--if they went back far enough into their family tree--couldn't find at least one caucasian ancestor.

The shameful centuries-long American genocide of slavery resulted in most (if not all) black women being serially raped by the white men--and/or his male relatives--that enslaved them, resulting in many pregnancies and their end-result: babies.

These children, depending on the shade of their complexion, the texture of their hair and the appearance of their facial features, either became slaves or were absorbed into the slave-owner's family. However, given that caucasian genes are the most recessive, the vast majority of these children became slaves.

In this country, what constitutes a "black" person is perfectly obvious; and everyone who lives here (despite the protestations of many "awe shucks" white folks to the contrary) knows exactly what that is. It's very simple: if you have identifiably "black" features (as Obama does), you are "black" and have been treated as such your entire life (whether the people treating you that 'way' intended to or not).
