Remember the cinematic classic, Anchorman, where Ferrell's Burgundy turns to the sportscaster Chip and asks him "just stop talking for awhile"? Thats the way I'm starting to feel about Cindy McCain.
For some reason, when I see her in TV or in print media, I get the impression we are getting a realtime look into what Paris Hilton might be up to in about 40 years. Think I'm crazy, both blonde, both inherit obscene amounts of money, addled drug pasts that led to arrests, homewreckers. Both cant cook and they both seem to speak as if one must pull a string. The only thing I've ever heard Cindy say is some version of---I dont know about Michelle Obama, but I have always been proud of my country. And its been amost 4 months since the nomination was wrapped.
Now Im not going to get into all of the stories surrounding Mrs. McCain because thats not the point of this diary. The point is if Cindy really wants to get into a war of words with Michelle Obama, she will find herself getting embarrassed by a woman who is confident, hard-working, and someone who exemplifies the quintessential American Dream. Dreams that involve being born to a rich family and marrying a Navy war hero are not dreams at all. They are fairy tales to about 90% percent of Americans. How's that for "The Simple Life"
So the Republicans, can choose to play this game again (HRC, Heinz-Kerry) where they have no leg to stand on politically, so they go for the next best thing, the spouse. Except it didnt work that time, and it sure as hell wont work this election cycle.
Obama said if McCain brings a knife to a fight, he would bring a gun. If Cindy tries to "fight" Michelle, she will find that while Michelle is armed with all of the intellectual bullets in the world Cindy McCain will show up unarmed
