SEAN HANNITY, FOX NEWS: What does it to do to a person to spend that much time in solitary confinement?
SEN. JOHN MCCAIN: I think it makes you a better person, makes you love America. I really didn't love America until I was deprived of her company, but probably the most important thing about it, Sean, is that I was privileged to have the opportunity to serve in the company of heroes.
From Michelle Obama's February 18, 2008 speech in Wisconsin:
MICHELLE OBAMA: For the first time in my adult life I‘m proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.
The media's been blasting Michelle Obama for months over that remark, particularly the right wing media on the FOX Nutwork, yet they ignored a similar remark John McCain on an appearance on their own Hannity & Colmes.
Another remark from McCain about when he "fell in love" with America:
MCCAIN: I was born into America's service. It wasn‘t until I was deprived of her company that I fell in love with America.
Why the obsession with Michelle Obama's comments about pride in America when McCain's remarks are not that much different? Isn't it time we started pressuring the networks to start equalizing the two campaigns instead of "cheerleading their hero" McCain while lambasting their "less favorite" Obama's? The only way we can change this is to write each network of our disapproval of their practices and to continue to threaten their ratings by boycotting their preferential coverage.
Take a few moments and do it!
