Jonathan Martin at Politico is reporting that McCain wants to "challenge Obama to additional debates" in addition to the 3 that are scheduled.
Martin reports:
John McCain will use the first day of the general election to propose additional debates or joint forums beyond the three sanctioned for this fall, according to a McCain source.
Ironically, this strategy was first proposed by Mark McKinnon. Does that name ring a bell?
McCain adviser Mark McKinnon floated the prospect last month of the two candidates campaigning in the same states together and holding joint forums without a moderator. Obama said at the time that he would be open to such a prospect.
Perhaps Mr. McKinnon gave Barrack a parting gift on the way out the door...getting McCain to think more debates is a "good" thing.
Game on!
