Rick Davis, McCain's campaign manager, has posted a PowerPoint study asserting that McCain currently hold slight leads in Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri and Nevada, and that Ohio is "a dead heat" and that Pennsylvania could go Republican. "This is a very good position for our campaign to be in," Davis contends
In fact, the survey data is not as favorable as Davis claims - Obama leads in all five of the most recent Pennsylvania polls by an average of 5.8 points, and he leads in Wisconsin by 2 points. Polling in the 19 states identified by RealClearPolitics as battlegrounds shows Obama in a better position than McCain, ahead in such Bush '04 states as Colorado and Iowa, and running very close in Virginia, New Mexico and Nevada.
I find it amazing that the talking heads swoon over the fact that McCain and Obama are tied, or are so close in some national polls, and they skew it as a negative for Obama. When in fact, McCain has had the field to himself for months... he should be at least 50 points ahead.
One thing nobody has pointed out is that Obama has troops on the ground in all 50 states. It's one of the benefits of the long primary season, plus the fact that Obama has the funds to have full time organizations in all 50 states and McCain has neither the money nor the enthusiasm to carry it all off in the same manner that has come easily for the Obama campaign.
Another interesting factoid is that the McCain team has fooled themselves into believing that California is in play for them, when in fact, they don't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning the state. That said, let them spend their already impoverished campaign funds buying air time in the expensive media market of California. It'll bankrupt them and they still won't finish with anything more than 38% of the vote.
Ah! The Republicans are stuck with McBush and it's going to cost them a landslide defeat in November. The party that claims to be conservative and of being possessed of family values is crawling with incompetents, pedofiles, toilet perverts, liars, divorcees and scandal after scandal. They have bankrupted this nation and hathey have needlessly caused the deaths of thousands and thousands of people. They were given too much power and they self imploded.
We all know why Mccain will lose in November....he's the evil twin of George "W"orthless Bush and the country isn't having any more of it!
