Jill Iscol, a faithful Democratic donor had a conversation with Obama about the possibility of Hillary Clinton being on the ticket. Iscol made her case as to why Hillary should be considered:
"I said nobody has been vetted the way she has been vetted," Iscol said. "We need to pick the most qualified, wisest, smartest, experienced person to serve our country alongside of Barack Obama. And I think it's Hillary Clinton. We need her, and the party needs her, and it will be a ticket that will steamroll its way to the White House."
According to Iscol,
Obama replied that she is on his list, Iscol recounted, and that it would be a mistake not to have her on such a list. But he also explained that he was thinking through a potential "complication" -- Bill Clinton.
"He said once you're a president, even if you're a former president, you're always a president," Iscol said.

The Los Angeles times article goes on to suggest that Obama is worried about the conflict of having two people called President during his Administration. I guess he does not want to have an embarrassing moment if someone should ask the President of the United States to please stand up.
Also, one more note, the story ends with Iscol saying that she will wait to donate. Maybe we can throw in a $5 contribution just as a gesture of our support.
