An Open Letter to Markos Moulitsas Zuniga....

Dear Markos,

While I am addressing this letter to you, it is also intended for John Amato, Arianna Huffington, Digby, John Aravosis and all the other powerhouse players in the Netroots Nation.

We have seen over the last few years the power and influence of the blogosphere grow exponentially. You, and others like you, have influenced the direction of political campaigns, made or broke candidates for high office, impacted public opinion, and even forced some mighty big corporations to come to heel. But now I am asking you to harness that power once again and direct it against a single person.

We have all become inured to, and in some cases amused by, the offensive rants and raves from right-wing commentators like Limbaugh, Coulter, Ingraham, Beck and others of their ilk. Their shtick is mainly for fun and profit. But there is one among them who truly believes and truly relishes every hate-filled word he utters. And we have even managed to tune him out both literally and figuratively. When we all thought he could sink no lower than he has in the past, he has managed to do just that. And in so doing, he has finally crossed the ultimate line. And now it falls upon us, little bloggers like myself and the great ones like yourself and your colleagues to bring an end to it.

And this is the cretinous piece of human detritus to whom I am referring and what he said....

Michael Savage on autism: "A fraud, a racket"

Health & Fitness – On his radio show, Michael Savage claimed that autism is "[a] fraud, a racket ... I'll tell you what autism is. In 99% of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they're silent? They don't have a father around to tell them, 'Don't act like a moron'.

It is time for us to kick the 50,000 watt syndicated soapbox out from under him once and for all. It is time for us to halt the stream of vile ejecta he spews force across America's airwaves spreading a miasma of sociopathic rage.

And it is part of our human DNA that we instinctively protect and defend our children form all threats and attacks. So let us make common cause with all the parents of children afflicted with this terrible disorder and help defend their children from a vile and loathsome creature.

You can do it, Markos. It would take only one post from you and the others to start the ball rolling. Please, for the sake of American decency and the sake of the children and their parents write that post.
