Josh Segall makes the following claims that he voted against veterans at a new campaign websiteWashington Changed Mike.
- Mike Rogers voted against expanding educational benefits for Veterans- Well it may just be me but I'm pretty sure that voting against the GI Bill says that you did not want educational benefits expanded for Vets. You can see Rogers vote by looking at the roll call of this vote. Skipper, you need help doing that?
- Rogers voted against passage of the bill that would mandate minimum periods of rest and recuperation for members of the U.S. military serving in Iraq.
Skipper look here [Vote 796, HR 3159, 8/2/07, Passed 229-194, R 6-190; D 223-4]
Now let's address Trip Skippers other descriptions
- northern Ivy league roots - Yes Segall attended Brown University for Undergrad. But he did also attend the University of Alabama Law School as did both of Alabama's current Republican Senators.
Nevermind that Josh is a 4th generation Alabamian.
- extreme liberal friends bankrolling his campaign - Josh was just in D.C. for a fundraiser backed by the following Congressmen: Steny Hoyer, Artur Davis and Bud Cramer. (not sure that too many faithfull on this site would call those three "Liberal")
- "Uninspired" I'm not sure if you are incumbent and you feel good about your seat that you start going on the attack this early. Well Segall did move up in the Swing State Cash on Hand Power Rankings to number 53 from 64th. I guess that and outraising Rogers for the second straight quarter is making him scarred. I'm sure his donors are real uninspired.
- Perhaps Segall opening an office in Rogers hometown of Anniston is making him a little bit nervous. That's real uninspiring.
- Dick Cheney is coming to fundraise for Rogers and company on August 1
Let's help Josh Segall and Chase Cheney for Change and show the country that MS-01 was not a fluke
