McCain knows he's cornered on this, and it makes him look very, very bad. So like any cornered rat, he lashes out recklessly. Here's the pathetic, minor-league Rove response from the McCain camp:
"Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses? Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people ‘cling’ to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?"
Oh HELL yes he wants that debate, McCain. It's you, who have been getting your ass kissed in Washington for too many decades, who's running like a coward from that discussion while counting your Big Oil bribes.
But notice something: they're trying to resurrect the absolutely-debunked Rezko "scandal."
Ladies and gentlemen, this is excellent news.
This makes it open season on John McCain's many, many, many shady ties to criminals, grifters, and bribing low-lifes.
Now, it really didn't need this spark to go after McCain's very dirty political / financial past, but perhaps this will light a fire under the Obama camp and the rest of us to get McCain's scummy dealings past the frustrating media filter once and for all. There is an embarrassment of riches here for us, and an embarrassment of embarrassment for McCain.
Best of all: these feckless idiots opened up that line of questioning today. So let's make it an all-out war.
And let's start with McCain's intimate involvement with convicted felon Charles Keating.
McCain helped a convicted felon (since the McCain camp is playing with time, let's do the same) who cost U.S. taxpayers nearly 125 billion dollars.
And McCain was OLDER than Obama is now when he did it -- so no bullshit about youthful mistakes here. McCain himself should have been in jail for it, and he was lucky to have the connections he did. Plus -- it was only after that when McCain started kissing up to the press and pretending to be interested in reform. The re-branding strategy worked on a guillible press, but the facts still speak for themselves:
John McCain let himself be bribed to help a convicted felon loot 125 billion dollars from U.S. taxpayers.
Please elaborate below, on this and McCain's many, many, many other dirty dealings. And recommend if so inclined.
One question I want to leave us with: if John McCain wants to get into Obama's personal life -- buying houses, etc. -- why is he too cowardly to release his joint financial records with his sugar mama wife?
