Joe Biden is the choice of exoneration for the generation that got us into Iraq. Knowing that Biden voted for the extension of powers so Bush can go to war shows us that even the best got hoodwinked. Biden represents every person whose eyes have been open to the incompetency of the Bush administration. His fervor to get out of Iraq can be seen here.
Obama's choice is a signal that foreign relations will be on the top page of his administration. We will begin to pick up the pieces of the utter devastation that these wars have cost us.
It is worth it enough for Obama to not pick Hillary Clinton, who is by far the most qualified person to pick if looking to win heavy handedly, and say that his administration is going to look past material verbal gaffs and character flaws and choose people wanting to shape a different America. An America that wants to heal itself within and change it's priorities in the world. Sadly, picking such a person will make this general election that much harder, since now the opposition has utterly nothing else to debate on other then superficial issues.
Joe also fits into how Obama wants to change the Democrat party. Since Biden will most likely not run after Obama's presidency, it places the future of the party in the hands of Obama's Generation. Though adults now, this generation was raised during the Clinton and Bush White Houses and fought in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. It is with Biden that in eight years we might have another extraordinary choice of presidential candidates.
