The Time to Give $$$ is now

Starting with the convention Obama/Biden and the Democratic National Committee will need lots of money for the next three months. Also get those bumper stickers, signs, buttons, shirts, caps, . . . and use them.

While McCain himself is getting some 85 million dollars, the republican party and support groups will have even more. We need to make certain that Obama/Biden receive at least 150 million dollars over the next two months. We also need to give the DNC at least an additional 100 million dollars to be able to match all those denigrating advertisements.

In large part this needs to come from small $50 or less donations from 3-5 million of us. We need to talk to our neighbors and put our yard signs out. We need to wear buttons, shirts, caps, . . . We need to put bumper stickers on our cars.

The republicans are destroying the US representative democracy and turning the country into an autocratic state. John McCain will continue this destruction. Only through ending the occupation/war in Iraq, negotiating with our allies and adversaries, investing in infrastructure, investing in inexpensive energy, reducing global warming, investing in education, investing in health care and getting rid of poverty in the US can this be changed.

Yes this will mean new taxes. Taxes to ensure the future and set the proper directions for private industry are an excellent investment. Deficit spending to give the rich tax breaks and to pay money to the rich to support wars they do not fight in is terrible.

There is so much to be done. Obama/Biden will make a start and McCain will return to the 1920s. Change is a way of life. The time has come to reverse the failed policies of republicans and return the country to research, innovation, development, and growth. The time to donate is now, next week, next month. Do it! If we don't the decline will accelerate.
