They claim that they need to bail out the banks or our financial infrastructure will crumble.
They claim it will help us if they give free money to the banks and creditors--money taken from the laborers of this land.
They claim it will fix the financial infrastructure of this land.
Let's talk about the real infrastructure of this land.
You.
Me.
Truckers.
Auto makers.
Teachers.
Plumbers.
Road Builders.
Bridge builders.
Gas station owners.
Grocery store owners.
We are the rock of this nation. If we fail. Our nation fails.
Bush and 90%McBush (10%McCain) have been at the helm of this nation while we've been attacked three times! 9-11. Katrina. Black Monday.
Yet those are just the times their policies have imploded.
The real attacks have occurred daily on the middle class and the poor.
I'm moved to write this diary for my brother, who is a truck driver who has 'hauled a$$' for the last 20 years of his life bringing us our refrigerated food and miscellaneous supplies. When he first started, the cost of diesel was less than the cost of car gas. Now, with the last eight years of fuel increases, and with diesel going up to five dollars a gallon, my brother is seriously considering bankruptcy.
He provides food for all of us.
His service is integral to our survival--unless they figure out a way to give us George Jetson breakfast pills.
His fuel costs has eaten into the amount he earns per month to pay for his truck and trailer. For the last five months, they've been stealing from him to give to the billionaires, and now he stands to lose his truck and who knows maybe his home, because he may have been one of those who they preyed upon.
They've quadrupled the cost of survival and they've taken away the jobs.
So...as part of the infrastructure, where's his bailout?
We need a movement folks, and we can't wait for Bush and McBush to force people like my brother who already is looking at losing his home and career into paying more money to banks and CEO's who begged for deregulation and who wanted free reign to screw us over.
This movement needs to bring jobs home, needs to bail out the little guy so that they can pay the banks, and needs to stop pretending that it's ok to spend trillions of dollars on rich people trickle-down-stupid-economics instead of spending the same amount of money directly to the people.
We are the infrastructure. If you prop us up, then you by default will prop up the big corporate empires.
