Bill: McCain not ‘afraid’ of Obama debate

Former President Bill Clinton believes John McCain’s move to suspend his campaign and push back Friday’s scheduled debate was made in "good faith" and not "because he’s afraid" to debate Barack Obama.

"I presume he did that in good faith," Clinton said on Good Morning America, recalling that McCain had "asked for more debates to go all around the country."

This is becoming intolerable. Over the last few days, you have said how nice Sarah Palin seems to be and how you understand why so many Americans can identify with her. Then you decided to comment on how you understands completely how Todd Palin must feel right now having a wife who is in the national spotlight. And now this comment today.

We all know how angry and bitter you are over Hillary's defeat. And how you are still harboring a simmering rage over, in your mind, the perceived slights and dissing of you by Obama. And we also all know that in your heart of hearts, you want Obama to lose so Hillary can run in 2012.

My response? Suck it up. Your wife lost and Obama won. Over and done with. What you are engaged in now is nothing less than an act of political sabotage. It is beneath the dignity of you and especially beneath the dignity of a former president of the United States. Shame on you , Mr. President. We thought you couldn't demean the office of president more so than you did with the Lewinsky affair. But you have managed to top yourself.

Do yourself a favor and just stop. You are only succeeding in losing even more respect of an increasing number of your former admirers and supporters.
