Then at lunch one came to me, asking questions about McCain and Palin. I couldn't believe it, but this guy, a near-total wingnut (the only differentiation I can find is that he believes that the world is six billion years old and the people in Jesus Camp are complete idiots) was actually looking for an out on why he shouldn't vote for McCain and listening to my answers. It turned out that he'd seen the Palin-Couric interview and the debate and couldn't stomach the thought of actually pulling the lever for them. He prefaced the whole thing with a "I'll never vote for Obama" and he stuck by that, but now, instead of voting for McCain, he's leaning towards Cuck Baldwin. If there was anyone who I thought was a lock for McCain it was him, but I turned out to be wrong.
Either way, the point that I'm trying to make is, failing all else push these guys who'll never vote for Obama but are holding their noses while voting for McCain away to the third parties, Barr, Baldwin or whoever will work. I chalk this up to a victory.
On a completely unrelated note, the deadline for registration in Pennsylvania is Monday, make sure you, your family, friends, and whoever else you can find is registered, take nothing for granted.
