What would YOUR next move be if you were the Obama-Biden campaign manager?
I would:
Announce a "Response to the Republicans" combination statement/news conference on Friday at some easily-accessible-to-news-outlets location, probably New York. I think I'd do it during the morning news hours - the networks would carry it, particularly if they were going to get to ask questions. Get them focusing on "what will Obama say?" before going into the weekend.

In the statement I would emphasize: that Republicans HAD the government they are now calling for for 6 years - combined control of all three branches of government by Republicans. And I would say - look where it got us! McCain and Palin have called for identical policies to those that were in place for the 1st six years of the Bush administration. Where's the change?
Then I would do a long press conference open to all comers. Most of the questions would be pretty easy, 1000 variations on "How do you think Sarah Palin did?" Very easy to use this to expand their own policies.
On Monday I'd take out full spread ads in as many papers as possible: McCain-Palin: NOT change you can believe in, and take some of the choicest extracts and compare them to Bush speeches.
And I'd roll out the diverse set of Democratic leaders to be available next week for local interviews. We have a large number of very appealing politicians. They have the same old, same old, emphasis on old. Palin is Pat Buchanan with a face transplant.
What would YOU advise?
