Has anyone seen Harry Reid's testicles? Seat Franken Now!!

Given that the GOP are posturing their way for the 2010 election cycle why can't we have leadership in the Senate who will start playing hard ball with what is left of the GOP. I really don't credit Harry for any of the gains that progressives have made with the party. If we had someone with a little more "teeth" we would have two Senator's seated from the State of Michigan or Reid could impose new Fillibuster rules for the Senate making the magic number 59 if the Republicans want to play games with the Senate seat....

It could be months, even years, before either Republican Norm Coleman or Democrat Al Franken represents Minnesotans in their vacant U.S. Senate seat. The contested race, which has been stuck in court since last year, is getting renewed attention now that former Republican Sen. Arlen Specter has switched parties.

YEARS? WTF? Is this where our political system mucks in?

It is way past the point of riduculous!! It's pathetic and the Democratic leadership should be rattling some cages and forcing the issue. If the GOP wants to play the judiciary card and drag Franken's seat on for years, then Reid play the fillibuster card and make those obstructionists sweat.

The other alternative if Reid's lacks the courage to lead and change the rules then make the GOP fillibuster the old fashioned way. Make them roll out the beds and speak 24/7. Those old mother fuc!*ers fillibuster around the clock until the courts decide the issue. Let's see how long they last!! They are not respecting the statemanship rules, they have no repect for the process, they are pure politicians.

With former Sen. Norm Coleman now standing between Democrats and their 60-seat supermajority, the GOP is prepared to back the Republican’s appeal to the federal level if even a shred of doubt emerges in the case currently before the Minnesota Supreme Court.

"This makes it pretty darn important," said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, of the race following Specter’s switch. "I expect they will pursue the appeals until they are exhausted, whenever that may be. ... I would assume if they were unsuccessful in the Minnesota Supreme Court, there may very well be an appeal to the United States Supreme Court."
