Ben Smith at Politico has the hot news. According to Smith, "Dean will endorse her today . . . tying his backing to her suport for a public health insurance option."
It gets harder and harder for Carolyn Maloney or her supporters to justify a primary challenge that will be costly, will be acrimonious and give the tabloid media a field day in portraying the contest as a political cat fight, and will not take place until after Labor Day, less than two months before the general election, leaving the party precious little time to heal wounds.
