Think Progress from February 2008:
On his CNN Headline News show last night, conservative talking head Glenn Beck fumed about the House leadership’s decision to let the Protect America Act (PAA) expire this weekend. This was "an extension requested by the president," exclaimed Beck.
It doesn't really take a rocket scientist to see what has changed between 2/08 and the present. Did we capture Osama Bin Laden? NO. Did the Office of the President of the United States change political parties? YES.
Beck said in 2008:
Now, after 9/11, you remember we came up with all kinds of new — aggressive, new laws to combat a new kind of enemy. One of them was the Patriot Act. Another one was the Protection — Protest (Protect)America Act. This was an extension of our eavesdropping. It helped our government listen in and find terrorists.
So, let's get this straight, this man (and I use that term loosely) says that he does not care who is running the "government", Democrat or Republican, but when President Obama is President, he YELLS Government is taking over your computer and eavesdropping in on you. It was OK last year, but this year it is "EVIL'.
SO let's get this straight, BECK is causing fear that the government will use the Car rebate program (Cash for Clunkers) to take over your computer and eavesdrop on your communication, but HE endorsed the Patriot Act which allowed this to happen?
ARE WE STRAIGHT NOW?
