Ladies: How often do you get a pap smear???!!!

Did you say once a year like recommended?

Then why is it that medicare only reimburses EVERY OTHER year for a women's health exam?

I am a 30 year old woman, and not on medicare. However, I may need medicare one day, and this is appalling on so many levels. And since we are talking health care reform, this needs to be brought to the attention of Congress and changed.

This exam checks for cervical cancer, cyst, breast lumps, etc. Clearly every woman, especially over 65, should have these things checked and screen annually.

Please call your senator and representative and tell them you want this changed.

UPDATE: Thank you to all who providing information on where to go for women who are uninsured. I hope this diary can help someone.
