Ft. Hood Tragedy, Open Thread

The other open thread is quite dense.

Alleged suspect is Major Nidal Hassan, M.D., supposedly a military psychiatrist.

CNN has reported that this link contains his bio, training, and a photo.

I've included the cached version of that link, as the site is crashing.

Ft. Hood press conference is supposed to happen any moment.

This open thread can be used in lieu of the (now full) one on FP. If it is redudant by the time I publish, I will delete. My thoughts are with the families of those involved.

I also hope that this incident doesn't spur any generalizations about people here and abroad. Ft. Hood has more than 65,000 people in and around the base; one person's actions won't lead us to generalize about the other soldiers, and it shouldn't lead us to unduly judge others based on nationality or religion or anything else.
