Well, so much for new ideas. We get word today that the entire idea is now "quitely" being scrapped
The Republican National Committee, under new chairman Michael Steele, has quietly killed an ambitious plan to create the Center for Republican Renewal, a big in-house RNC think tank intended to develop new policies and ideas in order to take the party in a new direction, a Republican official who was directly informed of the decision by RNC staff tells me.
Well, it's obvious to me they scrapped it because they HAVE NO NEW IDEAS!! They are relying on failed policies of the past, political theater, and obstructionism as their party platform now. And the occasional crying jag performed so brilliantly by John Boehner. They are perfectly willing to allow Rush Limbaugh to set the agenda and the policy. And they are perfectly content to let this be the game plan for their party.
The decision to kill the Center leaves the RNC with "no policy office," at least for the foreseeable future, according to the GOP official with direct knowledge of the decision. I tried to ask the RNC to respond to this claim, but RNC spokesperson Jon Thompson refused to answer repeated request for comment.
They've got a lot of nerve showing up on my TeeVee every day spewing that tax cut crap when it's obvious it's the ONLY idea they have. Despite them parading themselves around the media everyday, it looks like internally things are no better than they were a month ago. They have NO CLUE, and the closing of this "Think Tank" before it even got off the ground is proof.
