Get a life: The Right's Gay Obsession....

Several groups that oppose same-sex marriage suggested Tuesday that the successive victories for gay rights advocates would give the opposition movement new energy. Mr. Brown, of the National Organization for Marriage, said the developments in Iowa and Vermont had prompted his group to start running advertisements against same-sex marriage in several states now, instead of in late spring, as originally planned. In particular, he said, the ruling in Iowa caught opponents off guard and invigorated them because they had not expected it so soon.
His group will hold news conferences Wednesday in New Jersey and Rhode Island to denounce same-sex marriage bills under consideration there.

As a gay man, I doubt that I will ever comprehend the obsession that some "straight" people have with their fellow Americans who happen to be gay or lesbian. Is it truly a religion thing? Or a misguided and misinformed concept of morality? Or envy? Who knows. Who cares. But I am concerned about the mental health of these people. To devote so much time and energy into preventing citizens of the United States from having the same rights and freedoms as every other citizen is just obsessive and border-line psychotic.

And every time another state or governmental branch confirms the rights of gays and lesbians, they get even crazier and begin to foam at the mouth. "Yes indeedy, we've got to ramp up our actions cause them sicko queers and dykes are getting too uppity. And that's another reason not to have voted for Hussein Obama." Do these people have jobs? Do they have a rich family life? A satisfying social life? Half a brain? What I do know is that these self-righteous and self-appointed guardians of faith and morality in America are losing all of their battles. And they don't have their sycophantic Republicans to lend them a hand any more.

From all outward signs and symbols, I would say that it is not the Apocalypse that is coming to pass soon. Rather, it is the end of the fourth "Great Awakening" in America. Hallelujah.
