Per the Guardian;
Jailed Iranian reformists have been tortured in an attempt to force them into TV "confessions" of a foreign-led plot against the Islamic regime, it was allegedtoday, as the country's guardian council buried hopes for any significant revision of the disputed presidential election.
According to Iranian opposition websites, the "confessions" are aimed at implicating Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, the defeated reformist candidates, in an alleged conspiracy.
Again, Amnesty International called the reports from Iran "credible", although they do not appear to have issued an actual press statement as of yet. The "intensive interrogations" are alleged to be taking place at infamous Elvin prison in sector 209- reserved for political prisoners, and run by the intelligence ministry. Several Mousavi reporters alleged to have been tortured include Mostafa Tajzadeh, Abdollah Ramezanzadeh and Mohsen Aminzadeh(former deputy foreign minister).
But why report on that when news outlets can remind us that Michael Jackson is still dead?
