Five Days to Whip DC on Health Care

Fellow Kossacks,

We may have only five days to whip Congress before members leave town for vacation.

More than 41,000 people signed our petition to tell Congress to don't go without passing health care reform. In the next day or so we'll learn if the House will pass a health care reform bill before its three week break.

We can be most effective by pressuring progressive members of Congress to Take the Pledge for a real public option for health care reform before they go on vacation.

Please call progressive members of Congress and ask them to take the pledge for the public option before vacation. Click here get their phone numbers and a script to use when you call.

We know that if 40 members of the progressive caucus pledge to vote against any bill that doesn't have a real public plan, we can pass real health care reform. So far, 13 members have taken that pledge.

We have five days before their vacation to whip progressive members to take the pledge for a real public option. This is the moment for progressive members of Congress to Take the Pledge.

Insurance industry CEOs are poised to pummel members of Congress at home during the three week vacation with the goal of neutering health care reform. No matter what happens, you can count on deceptive attack ads aimed at anyone who is evening thinking about supporting real reform.
Make the call now. Let them know that they should take the pledge before vacation, because if they don't, they'll hear from you all over their vacation, too.
