I'm not usually one to run around spreading pernicious rumors, but I came across this on Jeanne Moos' "Moos Unusual" segment on CNN.com. She does a funny two-minute clip about a Vanity Fair article in which Levi tells all kinds of gossipy details about life with the Palins.
This is going to be short and sweet (I have an eye doctor appointment in ten minutes, something I've been needing for months and can finally do now that I finally have health insurance). Hopefully I can come back in an hour or so and add more. The part which raised my eyebrows was the following quote:
Sarah told me she had a great idea: we would keep it a secret—nobody would know that Bristol was pregnant. She told me that once Bristol had the baby she and Todd would adopt him. That way, she said, Bristol and I didn’t have to worry about anything. Sarah kept mentioning this plan. She was nagging—she wouldn’t give up. She would say, “So, are you gonna let me adopt him?” We both kept telling her we were definitely not going to let her adopt the baby. I think Sarah wanted to make Bristol look good, and she didn’t want people to know that her 17-year-old daughter was going to have a kid.
Only in the soap opera that is the Palin family would such a spot-on similarity to a blog rumor turn out to be true. When the whisperings about Trig being Bristol's child turned into rumblings, "the internet" was blamed and later threatened with legal action. Now, same story, different kid.
