Charleston, SC- Defeating Jim DeMint is the goal of a Charleston, SC, September 14 fundraiser for Democratic Candidate for US Senate Mike Ruckes, who is committed to offering South Carolina an alternative in the US Senate who brings people together and offers our children a better future.
Ruckes is challenging Right Wing Republican Senator Jim DeMint, who has pledged to "break" President Obama and give him his "Waterloo." DeMint offers South Carolina a fraudulent alternative health care plan which is unfunded, unfair and unreasonable. DeMint boards at the notorious C Street House in Washington, DC, operated by the right wing religious group, The Family. Mike is requesting support so that he can file, run and be heard.
Mike has 33 years of politically-related experience starting in Detroit at the Chrysler Corporation where as a rank-and-file United Automobile Workers (UAW) member he learned the give and take of political negotiations and how to work with competing interests to achieve goals. Later, as a member of management at Ford for 27 years, Mike developed teams consisting of union employees, senior management, and interdepartmental organizations that produced Ford Mustangs and F-150 trucks. During those years he developed a deep understanding of the diverse needs and desires of people and how they could work together for the benefit of all. More information on Mike can be found on the campaign website: www.mikeruckes2010.com.
