According to the poll conducted by Talk Business, Halter has narrowed the gap significantly. He now trails Lincoln by 7 points 31-38% respectively. With the margin of error at +/- 3 this means at best he is now only behind by 4 at worst he still trails by double digits.
The most telling part of the polling is that a third candidate, D.C. Morrison (just a note I have no idea who this man is and a quick search on him only resulted in a story on Arkansas' THV) is running at 10%. The interesting point in this poll is that the undecided people are still at 20% which is still pretty high with only 3 weeks left.
When looking at the breakdown at the poll some more interesting things are occurring. When asked if of the undecided voters who they were leaning to 12% said Halter, Lincoln and Morrison both garnered 10%. 68% however still need more information. So this race is anything but over.
With a fairly conservative candidate actually polling at 10% this is detrimental to Blanche Lincoln. But at their current levels if you split the undecided people 10 for Lincoln 10 for Halter it would lead to a run-off.
It is very important at this point in the game to get the word out on Halter. I would say at this late point in the game leave Lincoln out of the conversation and just focus on Halter's strong points.
