Is Rand Paul a 9/11 truther?

Yes, we all know that Rand Paul holds extremists views on what the scope of the federal government.  If he had his way and his view of the Constitution prevailed, there would be no social security, no medicare, no labor laws or protection for mine workers, no minimum wage, no EPA, no FDA, no Civil Rights Act, no ADEA, no ADA, ect. ect.  However, what hasn't gotten as much attention as perhaps it should is the fact that Rand Paul loves to associate with folks who hate the federal government so much that they actually believe, despite all of the evidence to the contrary, that 9/11 was an inside job.

In particular, it appears that former communications director, Chris Hightower, believes that the United States government was responsible for the attacks on September 11th.  Furthermore, Rand Paul has made numerous appearances on  Alex Jones's Show, where Alex spews his conspiracy theories about 9/11 being an inside job perpetrated by the "New World Order."  Here's a video of his appearance on Alex's show if you can stand to watch:

Perhaps most disturbing is that when pressed by the Louisville Courier-Journal if he agreed or disagreed with Hightower’s belief that the United States government was responsible for the attacks on September 11th, Rand Paul’s campaign said it was a "complicated situation" with "truth on both sides."

The press need to keep asking Rand Paul specific questions on how far his radical ideas go.  Someone needs to ask him whether he believes 9/11 was an inside job?  They need to push him for a direct answer, and if he refuses to give a direct answer to that very simple question, then that tells us all that we need to know.
