An Expendable American Worker Video We Should All See

What about human resources in the workplace and where does the American worker stand in this nation now? Is anyone even tracking the deregulation death toll?

As another Sundays passes and the media is still all about BP, Michael Conrad posted A Matter of Life and Death at Progressive Blue. So far 50 people have seen this two day old video on YouTube that covers oil refinery deaths in 2009 and this year.

Can you watch it?

Because 19 oil and refinery workers have died during April and May of this year unions are demanding action to elevate worker's lives over profit but is anyone even noticing?

Attempting to get a handle on how many of us have been dying in the workplace since Bush took as much safety out of a day's work as his administration could find, I came across a Weekly Toll Blog that seems like a death in the workplace database. Sort of an IGTNT for American's who did not go to war. That led to The United Support and Memorial for Workplace Fatalities because "going to work shouldn't be a grave mistake."

The final message of that video above from the United Steelworkers;

"ONLY WHEN THE CONSEQUENCES OF ALLOWING
WORKERS TO BE INJURED OR KILLED ON THE JOB
ARE SEVERE ENOUGH WILL COMPANIES TAKE
SERIOUS ACTION TO CHANGE THEIR
SAFETY CULTURE."

As Michael Conrad ended his diary;

Unless there is action and accountability, this will continue.
