James McMurtry & Me, Live On Your PC - Tonight at 8:45

If you don't know who James McMurtry is, he's a fantastic singer-songer and progressive activist. You might have heard some his recent songs, like Cheney's Tool, We Can't Make It Here, Choctaw Bingo, or others.
James was at Camp Casey in Crawford, 2005, and has been a great voice for many years. And yes, he's also related to author Larry McMurtry.

If you don't know who I am, well, I'm just a long time DKos blogger and also a comedy writer and political humorist. I worked on SNL, The Daily Show, and Air America Radio, and was eventually let go under tawdry circumstances from them all...but that's another story.
Now I'm involved with Michael Nesmith's Video Ranch. Nez is the Godfather of a new kind of performing space that blends the virtual world of avatars in graphic environments with live high definition concerts.
It's very cool, and you really have to see it.
It's also free, and it's very easy to navigate. So I'm inviting everyone to come and check it out. It's participatory, you can talk to other members of the audience, and James will take questions, and talk, and I'll be hosting it, opening with some comedy. So we're doing a live show in a studio in Austin, which is then streamed to anyone on the web.
You need a PC, sadly the Mac version is not ready yet. All you do is go to:
Video Ranch, download a little interface, pick a username, and log in, get a generic avatar, walk around, pick a seat, and watch the concert. All are welcome. You can heckle me, but not James, because he will cut you.
The show starts at 8:45 EST, 5:45 Pacific. The trouble starts soon after.
