Margaret Barbaree told Miller that her husband, an Okaloosa County employee, can't afford the $300 family health insurance on the $900 he brings home every two weeks.
Miller suggested she contact local churches and other private organizations for help.
"People look to Washington, D.C., to solve their problems," he said. "That's not the place to look."
Talk about the lack of compassion. And the fact that this elected official was indeed elected by the people of his district to find, enact and promote problem-solving agendas and policies.
I don't have to tell you that the places Miller refers to is seeing losses of their own and is not capable of handling the dire need of millions and millions of people who have no health care or are underinsured.
Face it, you're on your own with Miller. But alas, the brainwashing is still thick - even when they hear the words directly.
After the Crestview meeting, Barbaree said she didn't know whether her situation would improve or get worse if health care legislation becomes law. She said she trusts Miller, and God, to look out for her interests.
Look after your interests? And do what? Surely, you'd realize that he's "looking" and not acting with the best intentions towards your interests. That's O.K., keep the bellyaching going and vote in the same people who continually demean and demote you in the process.
Why do people constantly elect those who boldly state they are not there to solve problems, but are surely happy to accept that taxpayer-supported income and health care they enjoy.
Good for Miller, not for America.
